Carbon Footprint

It's not about the biggest house, the fastest car or how many times you eat out every week. Hot topic in the parliament and around the dinner table is carbon emissions. Just what is your carbon footprint? Mine is 7.2 tonnes with an ecological footprint of 4.1 global hectares. In simple terms, 2.5 planets are needed to support global consumption like mine. A scary thought. Considering walking is my main mode of transport and my last long haul flight was five years ago.

Carbon Footprint tells you all you need to know about it. Taking a quote from them that explains it a whole lot better than I could,
Carbon footprint is a measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide.
For those who emit excessive CO2, do your part to offset emissions. Carbon Neutral lets you donate to projects in order to make your recent European city getaway carbon neutral.

The smallest action counts. Ones I'm currently working on are reducing wastage - food, clothes, energy etc, buy locally and seasonal produce. It's difficult in view of my online shopping addiction. One must overcome... Hello Natural Collection!
